My Indepentant Project Description week one

Coca-Cola Company
In 1899 There was Two young attorneys from Chattanooga, Tennessee who believed Candler, Benjamin F. Thomas and Joseph B. Whitehead could build a business around bottling Coca-Cola. They had a meeting with Candler, Benjamin F. Thomas and Joseph B. Whitehead  to obtained exclusive rights to bottle Coca-Cola across most of the United States ( they specifically excluding Vicksburg, Mississippi) for the sum of one dollar. A third Chattanooga lawyer, John T. Lupton, soon joined their venture. This was first bottling agreement.
In 1900-1909 there was the three pioneer bottlers that divided the country into territories. these made selling bottling rights to a local entrepreneurs. This boosted major progress in the bottling technology, which improved to be efficiency in product quality. By 1909,  there was nearly 400 Coca-Cola bottling plants that were operating, most of them was family-owned businesses. Some of them were open only during hot-weather months because demand was high.

In 1902, he launched the Pepsi-Cola Company in the back room of his pharmacy, and applied to the U.S. Patent Office for a trademark. At first, he mixed the syrup himself and sold it exclusively through soda fountains. But soon Caleb recognized that a greater opportunity existed to bottle Pepsi so that people could drink it anywhere.

Pepsi Cola Company

Pepsi Cola Company began to grow. On June 16, 1903, "Pepsi-Cola" was registered with the U.S. Patent Office. That year there was 7,968 gallons of syrup sold. Caleb also began awarding franchises to bottle Pepsi to independent investors. Then number bottle company grew from just two in 1905, in North Carolina, to 15 the following year, and 40 by 1907. By the end of 1910, there were Pepsi-Cola franchises in 24 states.
Pepsi-Cola's first bottling line resulted from some less-than-sophisticated engineering was in the back room of Caleb's pharmacy. Caleb build a strong franchise system it was one of his greatest achievements. Local Pepsi-Cola bottlers, entrepreneurial in spirit and dedicated to the product's success, provided a sturdy foundation. They were the cornerstone of the Pepsi-Cola enterprise. By 1907, the new company was selling more than 100,000 gallons of syrup per year.

My Indepentant Project Description

For my Indepentant project I wanted do it how soda company have change thought the years. How they have change their looks. I also want to show how the bottle have change though the years, old bottle tops, old posters of coca cola and pepsi and how the soda machine has also change though the years. My goal is to work on this for rest of the semester. To show how they both pepsi and coca cola got so succesfull thought the years.
                                                        Coca Cola Company
First  the history of coca cola originated as a soda fountain beverage in 1886 selling for five cents a glass. Early growth was impressive, but it was only when a strong bottling system developed that Coca-Cola became the world-famous brand it is today. In 1894 … A modest start for a bold idea a brisk sales came to Joseph A. Biedenharn a candy store in Vicksburg, Mississippi, he called Coca-Cola the new fountain beverage  . Joseph A. Biedenharn began bottling Coca-Cola to sell, using a common glass bottle called a Hutchinson.

Biedenharn sent a case to Asa Griggs Candler, who was the owner of the Company. Candler thanked him but decide take no action. One of his nephews already had urged that Coca-Cola be bottled, but Candler was focusing on fountain sales.

I have been out high school a long time.  I am older then what I look. This is my second year at LaGuardia Community college. I want to make good grade and pass all my classed.

When I was raised on farm with cows, pigs and fields crops. I just knew one day I was going to get away from the farm life. Before I did get away from the farm life I was in high school with eating disorder. In high school start to only eat once a day and only at home. It was mostly fruit and vegetables. Now I eat meat but not pork and I eat more vegetables. I don't cook my husband does the cooking but I do help him sometimes.

When we go groceries shopping it can take us up to 3 hours in this one store because it is so big.It has to floors and food court. They also deliver the food to your home. When we go there we buy lamb, beef, chicken and no pork. A lot of vegetables, pasta, rice, bread (my favorite), juice. The other store we go to is much smaller and very hard to walk through. I hate going to that store. To many people for me in one small place.

My favorite food is bread. I have love bread ever since I can remember. My grandma used to give to me. she would toasted it and put cream cheese on it when I was little. I could eat it plain. I could live of just bread. The beat bread is home made bread. yummy it is good.
